This futuristic solar truck concept is like an EV Transformer

The pandemic unearthed a shape-sifting solar EV

Introducing the Thundertruck solar EV truck

According to the Wolfgang team, the time is ripe for a really well-designed truck:

Their baby is calledThundertruck. It’s as if aDeLoreanhad sex with aCybertruckand aSaab Aero-X.

A multipurpose solar EV

Designed for off-road desert dwellers, it takes its energy from the sun, through flexible solar awnings. The awnings charge the battery when the vehicle is stationary. And I love me some solar charging!

The awnings also provide auxiliary shade for when you’re camping, fishing, BBQing, snoozing, or whittling wood. It sounds positively campcore.

The 4WD design comes with a 180 kWhg battery capacity, a 643km (400 miles) range, 800 horsepower, and 360kg (800 lb-ft) of torque.

Going one step further is a 6X6 with a range of 900km (560 miles) and a 210 kWh. The EV is designed to go from 0-96km/h (60 mph) in 3.5 seconds.

If they ever make a prototype, I’d be super keen to take it for a spin. But until then, I need to finish watching The Servant…
